WELDING
Types of Welding We Employ
We’d like to give you some insight into our capabilities. This isn’t a comprehensive list,
but this should give you an idea as to what we can do for you!
The below services are offered for the following materials: aluminum, steel, stainless, cast aluminum and cast steel.
Arc Welding
Best suited for combining thicker materials, arc welding is among the oldest welding practices. It’s fairly cost-effective, utilizing less material and being quicker to perform. Arc welding is perfect for repairing heavy equipment like construction or agricultural equipment, but it isn’t recommended for lighter metals like aluminum, which can become damaged in the process.
MIG Welding
MIG (metal inert gas welding) uses a high voltage electrical current between an electrode and the material being welded to create a seal. Better for thicker welds, MIG welding is a good choice for larger projects with long-pass welds. The drawbacks of MIG welding involve issues with portability and materials. On-site MIG projects become problematic with the equipment required and issues with wind interfering with the process. Typically, MIG welding is not strong enough for dense metals like cast iron and is too strong for metals like aluminum.
TIG Welding
TIG Welding (tungsten inert gas welding) uses a torch gun and a non-consumable electrode to form a seal. The strength of TIG welding is its ability to produce clean, precise welds. While it takes more skill, TIG welding is used when you need a real controlled, clean weld. The precision of TIG allows for working with lighter metals like aluminum.
The above services are offered for the following materials: aluminum, steel, stainless, cast aluminum and cast steel.
